Off-Broadway Comedy Hit ‘Buyer and Cellar’ To Fill George Street’s Fourth Slot

Geomarquee (1)

George Street Playhouse traditionally keeps one slot in its five-play season available for last minute properties that become available, and this season is no exception. Jonathan Tolins’ off-Broadway comedy hit Buyer and Cellar, scheduled to end its New York run on July 27, will play New Brunswick March 3 – 29, 2015, in the fourth slot of the Playhouse’s 2014-15 season. Casting and director will be announced at a later date.

The Associated Press said of Buyer and Cellar, “Streisand won’t likely be coming, but you should!” The show employs one actor portraying numerous roles. Alex More is an underemployed actor who is hired for the oddest of odd jobs – toiling in the basement “mall” of a famous actress. Equal parts fantasy and farce, Buyer and Cellar is a hilarious examination of the pressures of fame and perfection, hailed by Entertainment Weekly as, “Hilarious! Beyond Brilliant. This show will go down ‘like buttah!’” Buyer and Cellar begins previews on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 with opening night set for Friday, March 6.

Flexible and convenient admission and subscription packages are currently available through the George Street Playhouse Box Office 732-246-7717 or visiting www.GSPonline.org. George Street Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue in the center of New Brunswick’s Arts and Entertainment district, steps from restaurants of every cuisine and budget.
