Due to popular demand, McCarter Theatre Center is adding two performances to the upcoming run of Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. Performances have been added Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. on the Matthews Stage.

Adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved 1901 mystery, Ken Ludwig’s inventive new adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles is both adventure and comedy, following the inimitable Sherlock Holmes and his sturdy companion Dr. Watson amid foggy London streets and the foreboding moors of the English countryside. The work is a co-production with Washington, D.C.’s Arena Stage.

Directed by Amanda Dehnert, Baskerville runs March 10 through 29 and includes a cast of five actors ricocheting through more than forty separate roles in an imaginatively non-traditional staging. This hilariously off-beat piece will, in the words of the playwright, “move seamlessly…tumbling forth as the best adventures stories do, with relentless pace and enormous heart.”

More information on Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, including cast and production bios, may be found on McCarter Theatre Center’s dedicated website.
