‘Just Be You Performing Arts’ to present young artist showcase in Rahway

Just Be You Performing Arts, a Rahway based mentoring and enrichment organization will present “Who Am I”, a showcase featuring the organization’s talented young artists. To be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. This celebration of the organization’s one-year anniversary will be held at the newly renovated Gateway Family YMCA Rahway Branch located at 1564 Irving Street in Rahway, New Jersey.

The mission of Just Be You Performing Arts is to build self-esteem, and provide positive, enriching guidance for young people. “Who Am I” is the organization’s debut talent showcase. There will be a festive after-party, with music and refreshments, directly after the performance. Throughout the year, the children give performances and showcases in the community. This helps them prepare for a career as a professional performing artists.

These young artists are working hard to present a spectacular show; featuring dance, song, modeling and acting. project runway As an exciting highlight to the showcase, there will be a special guest appearance by Project Runway Model Winner, Ray’uana Aleyce. She grew up in the projects of Atlantic City and overcame many obstacles. Through determination to stay focused on her goals, she ultimately went on to model for and win, Season 12 of Project Runway. Aleyce speaks to youth groups throughout the country on finding positive outlets to express themselves through art, music and culture. Her foundation, The Ray’uana Aleyce Foundation, focuses on wellness, the arts and literacy. Just Be You Performing Arts is honored to have her as their special guest.

According to Reynolds-Clarke, hosting the organization’s anniversary showcase at the Gateway Family YMCA Rahway Branch is an ideal venue location. She believes they share a common value in community and family enrichment. The showcase will be held on the YMCA’s newly designed 3rd floor.

The Just Be You Performing Arts Showcase will send an uplifting message of inclusion, faith, and the importance of embracing one’s talents. Presented in the form of a short-play, produced and directed by Reynolds-Clarke, and co-created by the artists themselves.

As a parent I feel relieved that she has a mentor. Just Be You is a great organization to help children in the community learn how to succeed in this field,” said Isabel Espinoza. Her daughter Jocelyn is an original member of the organization.

Jafra Cosmetics is a key sponsor for the Just Be You Performing Arts Showcase. They will have a vendor table at the event featuring free samples, beauty treatments, and giveaways. Hosted by Vicel Guzman, District Manager. A portion of the showcase proceeds will go towards fundraising; for a scholarship program designed for young performing artists, that demonstrate excellence in academics and the arts.

Additionally, as an outreach to the Rahway community; ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization Rahway Food for Friends, which offers food and health services to individuals and families in the Rahway area. Their motto is “feeding the whole person”.

“The members of Just Be You Performing Arts understand the importance of serving and giving back to your community. Our organization goes beyond training young artists on how to build a professional career. We also foster a spirit of leadership and community service so the children will grow up to be civic-minded adults,” said Reynolds-Clarke, a professional performing artists and a resident of Rahway.

Under her leadership, she provides coaching, mentoring, and career development to kids ages 5-18 years old. As a thank you to the showcase attendees and the sponsors; the children will close the event by serenading Christmas carols, to celebrate the Holiday season.
