'Birth of a play' panel discussion in Madison part of Stages Festival

Join us March 24th at the Madison Public LIbrary for a panel discussion on the creative process of writing a play, with three of NJ's foremost playwrights.

Playwrights Chisa Hutchinson, Nikkole Salter, and David Lee White, together with artistic directors John Pietrowski, Cheryl Katz, and June Ballinger, will speak with Professor RN Sandberg of Princeton University about the process of writing a play and the NJPAC Stage Exchange commissions.

About the Event:
NJPAC Stage ExchangeBirth of a Play is one of dozens of events offered during New Jersey Theatre Alliance's Stages Festival. It is also the kick-off event for NJPAC Stage Exchange: The Commisions 2016, a groundbreaking new-play commissioning program, also known as NJStageX.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), in partnership with New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Newark Celebration 350, is working with Passage Theatre Company (Trenton), Luna Stage Company (West Orange), and Writers Theatre of New Jersey (Madison) to produce original theatrical works about issues relevant to the Garden State. Each play will have a staged reading at NJPAC in Spring 2016 and then receive a world premiere at its co-commissioning theatre during the 2016-17 season.

Birth of a Play, the first of four events that are part of 2016 NJStageX, will feature the following panelists:
