Centenary Stage Company continues their tradition of nurturing young artists by offering the TYRO Acting Program and the critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop this spring. Registration for both programs continues and is seeking new and returning applicants.

The TYRO Acting Program, designed specifically for young thespians ages 8 – 10 years of age uses structured theatre activities which focus on expression, confidence building and fun. Young thespians will learn acting games and demonstrate improvisations inspired by popular fairy and folk tales. The TYRO Acting Program spring session runs February 15 through April 26 and will meet on Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. No class will be held on Wednesday March, 22 2017. Tuition for the spring session is $150.00 per student and the deadline for registration is February 1, 2017.

The TYRO Program is led by Maria Brodeur, the CSC Education Director. One TYRO parent recently exclaimed, “I saw so much growth in Christine this summer as a result of the wonderful handling given by all of you.”

Celebrating over 20 years of acclaimed musical theatre training for young theatre artists, the Centenary Stage Company’s Young Performers Workshop Spring Session registration continues seeking new and returning applicants. This 15-week intensive program has been designed to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced performers, ages 8 – 18, interested in working in the theatre. The hands-on program utilizes both the classroom and the “production process” to train young people in theatre arts. The program includes the production of musicals and one-act plays. Led by theatre, TV and film veteran Michael Blevins, the spring session will run from February 11 through June 4 and culminates in a Spring Festival of Shows. Registration deadline for all applicants is February 1, 2017.

While no prior experience is required to participate in the Young Performers Workshop, all new applicants must complete an interview session with program director, Michael Blevins, prior to acceptance into the program. To schedule an appointment contact the CSC Administrative Offices at (908) 979-0900. Tuition for the 15 week intensive is $395.
