Save the NEA message from MPAC

Dear MPAC Patrons,

On March 16th, the new Trump Administration released their budget proposal to fund the federal government for the coming fiscal year (FY2018). The Trump proposal includes massive budget cuts, including elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

NEA funding in New Jersey is crucial to our field's well being. As a patron of Mayo Performing Arts Center, you should know that a significant portion of New Jersey State Arts Council funds are provided by direct funding from the NEA.

These budget cuts will limit our capacity to present the world-class performances you enjoy in our theatre, and the enriching education and outreach opportunities we provide to the community.

This is not just about the arts.  This is about access, creativity, equity, community, history, and heritage. That means it's about everyone in this country, and everyone should care and speak up loudly. Your voice is important now and throughout the long budget process.
On behalf of ArtPride NJ, we are looking to have an army of arts advocates contact their federal representatives, share their support on social media, and encourage their friends and family to join the cause.
Please visit ArtPride NJ's website for ways you can advocate through direct contact with elected officials and via social media.

Thank you for your advocacy efforts!

Sincerely,

Allison Larena

President & CEO
