NJ Festival Orchestra’s 2017-18 anniversary season schedule

Spectacular Events.....Sensational Celebrations

Join us for our 2017-18 anniversary season!

A message from NJ Festival Orchestra Music Director David Wroe:

“Our beloved NJ Festival Orchestra has reached a milestone as we celebrate its 35th anniversary season. At the risk of boasting it's also my 20th anniversary as your Music Director! Thank you, my friends, for this gift of a lifetime!

This season has an overarching theme entitled “Voices of Distinction.” The human voice irresistibly and directly ‘plugs in’ to the human heart and condition, with song acting as an unfettered declamation of the soul. Combining these enchanting qualities with the mighty forces of our Symphony Orchestra has allowed us to create a series of spectacular programs centered around words, stories, and music. Each program goes beyond pure sonority, promising to conjure up in our minds places, experiences, narratives, and tangible feelings to help us celebrate our 35th anniversary.”

With a song in our hearts, this year NJ Festival Orchestra aspires to transport you beyond the ordinary to a place of spiritual ecstasy. I can’t wait to join you there!

Sincerely yours,

David Wroe

NJFO’s season opens lyrically with Vaughan Williams’ Serenade, a great musical work inspired by William Shakespeare’s contemplation of the beauty of music in The Merchant of Venice. One of the most dazzling scores ever created for the instrument, Paganini's B minor violin concerto is brought to life by internationally acclaimed virtuoso Stefan Milenkovich.
