Paradise

By Laura Maria Censabella

November 2nd - November 19th, 2017
A Co-Production with Passage Theatre starring Grant Shaud*

Paradise tells the story of a Muslim-American teenage girl in the Bronx and her mysterious high school biology teacher. As they work together to investigate adolescent romantic love, an unlikely partnership is formed. But clashes arise out of their conflicts over religion, science, and mentorship and both the teacher's and student's lives are transformed forever.

Grant Shaud, perhaps best known for his iconic role on TV's Murphy Brown, has an extensive theatre resume including Relatively Speaking (Three plays by Woody Allen, Elaine May & Ethan Coen) and Torch Song Trilogy on Broadway. In addition to Murphy Brown and numerous guest appearances on network TV, Grant was a series regular on Oliver Beene for Fox TV, Madigan Men with Gabriel Byrne for ABC, and From the Earth to the Moon for HBO. *Scheduled to appear.

A World Premiere of a New Musical by Andy Peterson (Musical Director of Thrill Me), and Kate Mulley

February 1st - March 4th, 2018
Commissioned by Luna Stage

In the 1920's, the streets of Sydney ran with blood as a pair of criminal empires went to war. But perhaps what is most surprising about the gang wars was that the leaders of the rival empires were both women. Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh spent years battling for control of booze, drugs and prostitution on the streets of Sydney. This new musical traces their reign as queens of their domains, and asks if they were truly evil ladies, or just shrewd business women ahead of their time.

April 5th - May 6th, 2018
A Revival of Luna's Critically Acclaimed Production Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th Anniversary of his assassination

A moving and intimate human portrait of Dr King on the final night of his life. This is one of Luna's signature pieces, having premiered it in 1995, revived it in 2008, and brought it to NYC in 2010. 2018 will mark the 50th anniversary of King's Assassination. His real legacy beyond "I have a dream" is needed now more than ever. This production will star Luna favorite Jamil A. C. Mangan ("Master Harold... And The Boys").
