Auditions: Circle Players' Frost/Nixon

The Circle Players in Piscataway will hold auditions for “Frost/Nixon, written by Peter Morgan, a dramatic retelling of how the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon came to pass. 

Audition Dates are 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at the playhouse, 416 Victoria Ave, Piscataway. Callbacks will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, by invitation only.
Those auditioning should plan to arrive and sign in no later than one hour after the posted start time, and will be asked to read from the script (provided).
John Dowgin of Spotswood will direct; Faith Dowgin, also of Spotswood, is the producer.

All roles are open: David Frost (30s-40s) - British TV personality;

Richard M. Nixon (50s) – former president of the United States;

Jim Reston (30s) – American journalist, researcher for Frost; 

Jack Brennan (30s-40s) – Nixon’s advisor and confidant; 

Bob Zelnick (40s-50s) – American journalist, researcher for Frost; 

John Birt (30s-40s) – Frost’s British producer;

Swifty Lazar (60s) – Nixon’s literary agent; 

Manolo Sanchez (40s-50s) – Nixon’s manservant; 

Caroline Cushing (20s-30s) – Frost’s romantic interest and source of confidence.

Auditioners for the role of Richard Nixon must evoke the late President’s personality, but do not necessarily need to resemble or impersonate him. The roles of David Frost, John Birt, and Caroline Cushing require British accents.

The show will run weekends Jan. 13-29, 2012.
