The clock is ticking, so PLEASE donate now…or we may not be here in the future.

Expenses continue to rise, and Playhouse 22 is no exception to feeling the impact of a slow economy.  Right now a group such as ours relies solely on tickets sales and donations for revenue.  However, donations are down, and ticket sales do not cover additional, non-show related expenses.  Since moving to the East Brunswick Community Arts Center after the sale of our Dunhams Corner Road home of many years, the Township of East Brunswick has required Playhouse 22 contractually to give to the Township $2 of every ticket sold towards the maintenance of the building that our theater occupies.  In addition, we are also required to pay half of the total yearly utility costs incurred for the entire building, regardless of the select times our group occupies the theater-related to rehearsals and subsequent productions .  This equates to approximately $25,000 ongoing per year for both expenses for our group!!  To date, the maintenance fees alone we’ve paid amount to almost $40,000, spread over the last four years!  These are two very large ongoing expenses for a non-profit group such as ours, and greatly impact our operation.    We need your support to help keep pace, and we need it NOW!  Not only to ensure we can continue to bring to you the high level of affordable entertainment you’ve come to expect from us, but that we will be here to celebrate our 55th year of operation now, and  for years to come!

Donating is easy – and tax deductible – please click here to donate online.  Or, please send your check Playhouse 22 – PO Box 181, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. Finally, you can donate now by placing your gift in the envelopes provided and place in the designated area in our lobby.  Thank you so much for your help!
