‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress’ By Alan Ball The Summit Playhouse May 1-17




Next “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” by Alan Ball at the Summit Playhouse.

During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tennessee, estate, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of the women's spirit. 

The cast includes:Top row left to right Wendy Schibener of Morris Plains, Cara Talty Heary of Summit,  bottom row Elaine Fraim D’Addezio of New Providence, Julie Jacobi of Edison, Leslie Gayle Williams of Chatham and not seen Daniel DeGuzman of Chatham.

The Playwright: Alan E. Ball is an American writer, director, and producer for television, film, and theatre. He is particularly notable for writing American Beauty and True Blood and for creating Six Feet Under, work which earned him an Academy Award, an Emmy, and awards from the Writers, Directors, and Producers Guilds.

The Director: Jim Peskin has worked in regional theater throughout the Northeast. Based in New Jersey, he was resident director for What Exit? theatre in Maplewood, and has directed at Playwrights Theatre of NJ, the Café Theatre, South Jersey Regional Theatre and, Walnut Street Theatre (PA.)   He was first Managing Director of PTNJ where he worked on many young playwrights festivals and coordinated residencies. He was a residency artist at PTNJ, PaperMill and NJPAC. He has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
