Arthur Przybyszewski is a hold over from the 60's who runs a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Defeated and unambitious, he walks through life barely existing. Franco Wicks, a charismatic African-American college student with a past, finds his way into the shop asking to be hired. Arthur gives Franco a job and in turn Franco gives Arthur hope, leaving both men changed forever.

This sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking comedy-drama by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize–winning author Tracy Letts (August: Osage County), explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship.
