Auditions continue tonight for The Strollers spring musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

Come prepared to sing 16-32 bars from the show (any song), read scenes with other actors, and do some light choreographed movement.

Character descriptions
Prologus/Pseudolus (male lead; baritone): Must have strong stage presence and comic timing

Hysterium (male comic lead; baritone): High strung, easily excitable, good stage movement

Hero (male romantic lead, 20s-30s; tenor): earnest but naïve; in love with Philia

Philia (female romantic lead, 20-30's; soprano): sweet, innocent; must have good comic timing

Senex (older male, baritone): Roman senator; hen-pecked father of Hero

Domina (older female, mezzo soprano): domineering wife of Senex, overbearing mother of Hero

Marcus Lycus (adult male, baritone): brothel owner and pimp, comically swarmy

Miles Gloriosus (male, bass): captain in Roman army; Hero’s rival for Philia’s affections

Erronius (older male): confused and elderly comic relief

The Courtesans (the wares of the House of Marcus Lycus, any voices)
Gymnasia (“Amazonian” and/or athletic)
Tintinabula (belly dancer)
Vibrata (wild and sexy)
The Geminae (twins, two similar looking actresses)
Panacea (sweet and “giving” courtesan)
The Proteans (3 or more males, any voices, multiple roles)
