Laura Eason’s 'Sex With Strangers' now on stage at George Street Playhouse

JoANNA RHINEHART and KYLE COFFMAN (T. Charles Erickson)

Original “Newsie” KYLE COFFMAN and stage/screen veteran JoANNA RHINEHART star in sexy comedy for grown-ups by “House of Cards” writer LAURA EASON.

Laura Eason’s Sex With Strangers, runs March 8 through March 27 at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick.

Kyle Coffman (Newsies, West Side Story on Broadway) is young, brash writer Ethan Kane; JoAnna Rhinehart (TV’s Elementary, Damages) is novelist and teacher Olivia Lago. The production is helmed by George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint (photo).

“I am very excited to be bringing Kyle and JoAnna to George Street Playhouse,” said Saint. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kyle on Broadway in West Side Story and I look forward to introducing this bright, young actor to our audiences. I am very excited to be working with JoAnna for the first time. She is a terrific actress and I am thrilled to welcome her to George Street Playhouse.”

Sex With Strangers is the story of an affair between Ethan, a brash, young blogger-turned-best-selling writer who shares his sexual exploits with the world, and Olivia, a reserved teacher whose would-be writing career stalled after one book published years earlier. It does not take long for opposites to attract and chemistry to ignite. Sex is imminent. But is their attraction driven by love, passion or opportunity? The play is recommended for mature audiences only due to adult themes and nudity.

Sex With Strangers is produced in association with Philadelphia Theatre Company, Sara Garonzik, Executive Producing Director; Priscilla M. Luce, Executive Managing Director.

He is featured on the cast albums of all three shows and served as the original Newsies logo. He has appeared twice on the Tony Awards, as well as multiple performances on TV shows, such as Good Morning America and The View. In 2012, he had a featured role in the film Someday This Pain Will Be Useful.

On stage, she has appeared in In White America and The Jones Men (New Federal Theatre/Castillo Theatre), the premiere of The Sleeping Girl at Playwrights Horizons, and the National Shakespeare Company tour of The Comedy of Errors.
