'The Pillowman' at Black Box Studios


Black Box Studios presents a new production of The Pillowman, by award-winning Irish playwright Martin McDonagh (B'way: The Cripple of InishmaanA Behanding in SpokaneThe Lieutenant of InishmoreThe Lonesome WestThe Beauty Queen of Leenane), directed by Black Box Performing Arts Center's artistic director, Matt Okin. The Pillowman will play a two week engagement from April 7 through April 17th, 2016 at Teaneck's Black Box Performing Arts Center (200 Walraven Dr. (just off Palisade Ave), Teaneck, NJ 07666). Tickets are $18 ($15 Students) and are available at or by calling 201-357-2221.

The Pillowman is a dark comedy about the interrogation of a fiction writer, in an unnamed totalitarian state, whose gruesome Brothers Grimm style short stories have eerie similarities to local horrific child murders.

Featuring Laura AlbaHaia BchiriSam CancelarichHuey EsquireNate MurphyNava Plaut, and Jeffrey Roth.

With set design and lighting design by Frank Avellino, and Gerard Bourcier. The production stage manager, costume and special effects designer is Haia Bchiri; and Yonatan Gordon is the stage manager.

The Pillowman plays the following performances through Sunday, April 17th:

Thursday, April 7th at 8 pm
Friday, April 8th at 8 pm
Saturday, April 9th at 9 pm
Sunday, April 10th at 7:30 pm

Thursday, April 14th at 8 pm
Friday, April 15th at 8 pm
Saturday, April 16th at 9 pm
Sunday, April 17th at 7:30 pm

Tickets are $18.00 ($15 Students), and are now available or by calling 201-357-2221. Tickets may also be purchased at the venue.

Advisory: The Pillowman contains mature language and violence is depicted on stage that is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
