Tony Danza to headline Algonquin Arts Theatre Gala

Tony Danza, the star of beloved sitcoms "Who's the Boss?" and "Taxi," appears at the Algonquin on June 9 as a song (and little bit of dance) man in his cabaret act "Standards & Stories."

The headliner at this year's Algonquin Arts Theatre Gala, Danza combines timeless music with wit, charm, storytelling and a dash of soft shoe. He is backed by a fantastic band, and the set list includes classic standards such as "My Way," "Pennies from Heaven," "I'll Be Seeing You," "It Was a Very Good Year" as well as Broadway favorites and selections from Danza's hit Broadway show "Honeymoon in Vegas."

Danza has been taking the Broadway and cabaret scene by storm for years, also taking star turns in "The Producers" and opposite Kevin Spacey in "The Iceman Cometh." The most recent version of his cabaret act, "Standards & Stories," has been a hit on both coasts.

"We are excited to have Mr. Danza share his New York soft shoe, Vegas razzle-dazzle and Hollywood stardom with our community," said Gala Co-Chair Dara Brown. "His song and dance act will wow the crowd and leave them wanting more! Don't miss your chance to share in this once in a lifetime experience that's just around the corner."

Brown, an anchor from NBC News, will emcee the gala and also serves as a Co-Chair of the event with Alison Nelson of Chocolate Bar and Diane Onto of Manasquan Bank.

Three ticket levels offer various levels of access, from a Gala Performance Ticket that provides a cash-bar cocktail party & a seat for the show through a VIP All-Access experience that includes cocktails, dinner at Remington's or Blend on Main, and an exclusive post-show reception with Tony Danza.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 732-528-9211, online at algonquinarts.org and in person at the Algonquin Box Office at 173 Main Street in Manasquan from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and on 12-4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Officially the Viva Las Vegas Gala with Tony Danza, this year's event recognizes Humanitarian Honoree Robert Allison, CPA, Community Service Honoree The Woman's Club of Brielle, Arts Education honoree Regina McAllen and Youth Award winner Tommy Fletcher.

The Gala is the single biggest fundraising event of the year for Algonquin Arts Theatre and includes a Silent Auction, Live Auction, raffles and much more. All funds raised support our mission to provide cultural enhancement and arts education to all audiences at the Jersey Shore.
