'OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW': RING IN 2017 AT VILLAGERS THEATRE Annual celebration will include tribute to Frank Sinatra with live orchestra, vocalists

Villagers Theatre invites area residents to join them in New Years revels at the theatre's annual celebration.

The New Years Eve party has been a mainstay of Villagers Theatre for years, with options for those who want to stay until the new year, and those who have a party to attend elsewhere. The doors open at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 for those who only want the show, and at 9:30 p.m. for those who want the full experience.

Attendees at either show will be treated to a live performance of Frank Sinatra music by the SummerSwing Orchestra, with vocalists Stephanie Long and Kevin Gray. The 9:30 also includes a hot and cold buffet, beverages, dessert, coffee and tea, and a champagne toast at midnight.

The 7 p.m. show costs $25. The 9:30 p.m. show costs $65 per person.

A nonprofit community theatre located at 475 Demott Lane, Somerset, Villagers Theatre has been providing area theatre-goers with a Broadway experience for the cost of a movie ticket since 1960. Upcoming shows this season include the Civil Rights drama “Mountaintop,” about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; the comedy musical “Altar Boyz”; and children's shows “A Christmas Cinderella” and “Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr.”

Programs are made possible, in part, by funds from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and administered by the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission through the State/County Partnership Local Arts Program.
