Auditions: Original Holiday Production “Christmas Cards: Letters to Santa” at Chatham Players

The Chatham Community Players is excited to present a holiday offering that will surely get your entire family into the holiday spirit. Open auditions for “Christmas Cards: Letters to Santa” by G. David Post will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 pm and Wednesday, September 27 at 7:30 at Stanley Congregational Church, 94 Fairmount Avenue, Chatham. Children only will be seen on September 23 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church. This production will be a variation on the very successful original “Christmas Cards”, which was a creative collaboration of John AC Kennedy, Leslie G. Williams and G. David Post produced in 2013.

Christmas speaks to the kid in all of us, and Santa Claus answering the letters of trusting children is one of the most iconic images of the generosity of the holidays. In this spirit, Post has revisited the Christmas Cards sketches and added some new scenes and a new twist to this crowd-pleasing show. Production dates - December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 at 8pm, December 9, 10 and 16th at 3pm.

Director Amy Sellars is looking for 3 men, (ages 30 to 60), 1 man 60+ who can play Santa, 4 women (ages 20 to 60) and 3 children (ages 8 to 16, mix of boys/girls) who are able to play a wide range of characters. In our production, each actor will portray multiple characters in a variety show of holiday sketches. The diverse roles range from mothers to children, elves to animals, silly to serious.

Auditions will start with cold readings from sides provided in small groups.

The Chatham Players have an open call casting policy. ALL roles are open, none are precast, and everyone is encouraged to audition. Any questions, please call Gus Ibryani at (201)-563-0362 or email her at
