Submit Original Writing to Healing Voices: Caregivers' Stories!

Writers Theatre of New Jersey Logo

Have you ever had to take care of someone who was ill?  The emotions stirred up in a caretaking situation - whether the person is a family member, friend, or stranger - can range from love and gratitude to frustration and anger. These are normal, human reactions, and oftentimes we don't have a way of unpacking those complex feelings.  Healing Voices Onstage: Caregivers' Stories aims to find a way to share those feelings with others.

We invite you to submit up to three pieces of original and unpublished poetry, prose, playwriting, memoir, or creative non-fiction that reflect on your experiences as a caretaker.

Writers Theatre and Premiere Stages will select pieces and assemble a script for the evening, which will be performed by professional actors on March 23rd at the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum in Morristown.

The program is a partnership between Writers Theatre of New Jersey, Premiere Stages at Kean University, Atlantic Health System, and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance.  It is open to anyone to anyone who would like to submit.

The submission page is now open, so click on the link for more information and to share your story:
