“Barnum” next week only at Skyline Theatre Company

Skyline Theatre Company, Bergen County’s most established professional theatre company and in residence at the Fair Lawn Community Center in Bergen County’s Fair Lawn, presents “Barnum” from Friday, September 28 through Sunday, September 30, only.

The biographical musical of showman P.T. Barnum – recently depicted in the popular 2017 musical film ‘The Greatest Showman’ starring Hugh Jackman – was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 1980, in which Jim Dale won for Best Performance by a Leading Actor and Glenn Close received her first of four Tony Nominations.

Skyline Theatre Company’s professional theatrical production will be presented Friday, September 28 at 7:30pm, Saturday, September 29 at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 30 at 2:00pm at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center, 10-10 20th Street, in Bergen County’s Fair Lawn. The show is directed by Skyline Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Sam Scalamoni.

With music by Cy Coleman, a book by Mark Bramble, and lyrics by Michael Stewart, “Barnum” tells the story of 19th century showman P.T. Barnum, his wife Charity, and of many of his circus star performers including Tom Thumb, Jenny Lind, and Jumbo the Elephant.

Most recently starring as Jimmy in Gateway Playhouse’s production of ‘Flashdance,’ Chris spent most of this past year Off-Broadway in ‘Friends! The Musical Parody.’ “Barnum” is choreographed by Skyline Theatre Company’s Associate Artistic Director Michael Whitney.
