AUDITION: ‘THE EMPEROR’S NEW DUDS’ in Freehold

Center Players Dessert Theater will hold auditions for a production of “The Emperor’s New Duds” at Center Playhouse, 35 South St, in downtown Freehold, NJ. The play was written by Bernice Garfield-Szita, who will co-direct the production with Enid Bush.

Audition Dates: Sat. Oct. 20th from 3-5pm and Sun. Oct. 21st from 7-9pm. Possible Callbacks: Mon. Oct. 22nd @7pm 

Performance Dates: December 7, 8, 14, 15, 16 and 20th * (*daytime school performances)

Synopsis: Based on Hans Christian Anderson’s the “Emperor’s New Clothes,” this charming modern musical adaption of the classic fairy tale is set in the land of Felicity which is blessed by people from all over the globe. Everyone is happy except for their Emperor, who can’t seem to get enough jewels and expensive attire. Some shifty weavers appear and lessons unfold. AUDITION MATERIAL: Sides from the play will be provided. Please prepare a song you know well. You may bring recorded music to accompany you if you wish.

Center Players Dessert Theater was founded in 1996 and gained status as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and sought to establish a permanent presence in historic downtown Freehold. After performing at various locations around town, the group leased a storefront property at 35 South Street.
