Join us for an evening featuring some of the most hilarious and moving storytellers on stage.
With a rotating cast of storytellers, the show is always fresh from September to November 2018.
Audience members can also claim a spot in the show and share a "two-minute tale" at the open-mic at the end of each show, for up to six audience members.
Hosted by Joey Novick, each show will be one hour long with no intermission, followed by the open mic segment of “two-minute tales." Each show will feature outstanding storytellers whose credits include The Moth, NPR, This American Life, and NYC's top storytelling shows.
Friday, October 5th will feature Danny Artese, Jeff Rose, Michele Carlo, Rick Patrick, Robin Gelfenbien, and Sammie James.

Host: Joey Novick
Joey Novick has been a political comedian, camp counselor, editorial director, attorney, busboy, radio show host, professional speaker, child actor and an elected official in New Jersey - but not necessarily in that order. He’s a professional stand-up comedian with appearances on MTV, Comedy Central and Rascal’s Comedy Hour. Joey has appeared at hundreds of comedy clubs across the US and Canada. He's opened in concert and comedy clubs for comedians much more famous and wealth than he is: Jerry Seinfeld, Robert Klein, Lewis Black, and Paul Reiser. As a storyteller, he's told at Yum's the Word, The Liar Show, Sideshow Goshko, Take-Two Storytelling, Word-Up, and the New York StoryFest. His solo show, "Comedian Elected to Town Council in New Jersey" was nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the Capital Fringe Festival and will be featured at the Jersey Fringe Festival this year.
The Storytellers:
Danny Artese -

Danny is a Moth GrandSLAM winner and has performed on Risk! and Yum’s the Word as well as hosting and producing the new storytelling series The Day I Should Have. He loves that sharing stories reminds us all we’re a little less alone than we might think.

Jeff Rose -

Jeff Rose writes fiction and tells stories. He’s the co-host and co-producer of the storytelling show “New York Story Exchange” at Cornelia Street Cafe and the monthly variety show “I Have A Crazy Idea” at Branded Saloon. He's a Moth Storyslam champion and has been featured on WBAI's Tall Tales in the Big City, the Bady House Concert, Now You’re Talking, Word-Up No Name Super Storytellers, Sideshow Goshko, Word at the Sidewalk Cafe, Rimes of the Ancient Mariner, Friday Night Stories, among others. Jeff produces the storytelling activist podcast “Our House” for Art, Humanity & Action ( arthumanityaction.com ).

Michele Carlo -

Michele Carlo is the redhead with 8,000,000 stories about New York City. She is a native New Yorker, a Nuyorican, a natural redhead—and an author/performer who has appeared across the U.S., including the MOTH's GrandSlams and Mainstage in N.Y.C., on NPR with Latino U.S.A. and on PBS with Stories from the Stage. Her debut book, the memoir Fish Out Of Agua: My life on neither side of the (subway) tracks, was published by Citadel/Kensington.

Rick Patrick -

Fully aware of his enlightenment by the age of four, Mr. Patrick has ever since been turning the cornerstone of humanity towards truth. Working twenty years in silence, communicating only through his painting and gardening (and a few miracles), he has nurtured the nature of being, for all. An advisor to world leaders sought out by the spiritually honest, disparaged by the rest, he now speaks to the greater good through truth-based storytelling.

His films have been at the Aspen Comedy Festival, his private life on the BBC, and his performances often on MNN. Not only a painter, performer, and gardener, Mr. Patrick is a world-renowned collector of silver, furniture, and ephemera for his modest museum.

Robin Gelfenbein -

Robin Gelfenbien is the Host and Creator of the storytelling show and podcast, Yum’s the Word, that features her homemade ice cream cakes. It's been a New York Times and Time Out New York Comedy Critic’s Pick and CBS named it one of the “5 Best Storytelling Series in NYC.” She's told stories on PBS, The Moth, RISK!, Mortified and more.
New York Magazine called her solo show, My Salvation Has a First Name (A Wienermobile Journey), “the highlight of the Fringe ” . She's also performed her original comedy songs at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and on Sirius Radio, and she starred in a commercial directed by Spike Lee .

Sammie James -

Sammie James is a comedian and storyteller from New Jersey. She is host and producer of the LGBT showcase Queerly Comedic and The Uncomfortable comedy show. Sammie performs all over the tri-state area and is soon to be your favorite disabled, nerdy, butch trans woman in comedy.
