Original Musical about Love and Immigration by Tim McCorry

Freehold, NJ – Feb. 24, 2019 – Center Players Dessert Theater will host a one-man presentation of Coyote, an original musical, at Center Playhouse, 35 South St, in downtown Freehold, NJ, on Friday, March. 8th at 7:30pm.

Creator, composer and lyricist Tim McCorry will serve as a guide for an evening of musical storytelling, bringing the audience on an inspirational journey from Guadalajara, Mexico to Lopez Island, Washington. Inspired by a true story, Coyote is a modern American tale of love, magic and adventure. Pedro and Bernadice are young lovers, determined to be re-united, who turn to a mysterious figure known only as Coyote to help them make a perilous crossing from Mexico into the United States. A “talk back” session with McCorry will follow the performance. Admission is free, but a voluntary donation of $5.00 is requested. Refreshments will be provided, and seating is limited.

Coyote is being developed with the support of the Belmar Arts Council, Belmar, NJ, the Forward Theatre Group of Chicago, and the NY Theatre Barn. It features a book by Michael Aman, and arrangements and orchestrations by Douglas Oberhamer. More information can be found at or by calling 732-333-0452.

An award-winning composer, lyricist and pianist for over 30 years, McCorry’s recording of original songs, Diana, made with his daughter and vocalist, was an “Official Selection” in 8 categories at the 2009 Grammy Awards and received that year’s Silver Award from the Songwriters Association of Washington, D.C. for best jazz and blues composition.
