The Chester Theatre Group is proud to present what some consider "the greatest play ever written:" William Shakespeare's King Lear,
the story of the 80-year-old King of Britain who divides his realm unequally between his daughters. As a result, Lear experiences a dark betrayal and decent into despair and madness.

King Lear is one of William Shakespeare's most famous tragedies. It was derived from the legend of Leir of Britain, a mythological pre-Roman Celtic king. The play has been widely adapted for the stage and motion pictures, with the title role coveted by many of the world's most accomplished actors. Most recently, Anthony Hopkins appeared in a BBC film version for Amazon Video.

Director, Kevern Cameron is currently serving on the Board of Directors for The Chester Theatre Group and spends much of his time invested in community theater around NJ. Most recently, he has been at the helm of such shows as "To Kill A Mockingbird" at The Summit Playhouse and "The Trip To Bountiful" and "Doubt" here at CTG. KC (as many refer to him) is a lover of language and an accomplished student of William Shakespeare"s work. CTG is honored to have such a force guiding the vision of this ambitious project.
