ROMEO AND JULIET & A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM
Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 pm & Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m.
Friends,
I'm performing this weekend with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Diane Wittry, Music Director and Conductor. The concert is a collaboration with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Patrick Mulcahy, Artistic Director.
Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn’s symphonic works were both inspired by the Bard. The Mendelssohn Dream was written as incidental music for a particular production, and will be performed here with choice excerpts from Shakespeare's play. The third piece features award-winning violinist Timothy Chooi performing Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1.
