Next Season at Luna Stage

Coming to Luna Next Season:

by Antoinette Nwandu
Winner of the 2019 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Play
February 6-March 1, 2020
Moses and Kitch stand around on the corner talking smack, passing the time, and hoping that today a miracle will come. They stand by a lamppost in a present-day ghetto, but it’s also a plantation, and it’s also Egypt, a city built by slaves. A provocative mashup of Waiting for Godot and the Exodus saga, Pass Over exposes the unquestionable human spirit of young black men who dream about a promised land they've yet to find.

by Dipti Bramhandkar
January 10-January 20, 2020
Part coming-of-age tale, part social commentary and, part comedy. American Rookie grapples with what it means to be an immigrant at a time when the country can’t stop talking about it. Inspired by Bramhandkar's experiences growing up and living in America after moving from Mumbai to rural Upstate New York, American Rookie brings to life the joy, humor, and pain of the assimilation process—from mimicking 80s fashion and studying Judy Blume books to constructing a new American persona altogether.

A Few Spots Remain in Teen Summer Conservatory
Audition Now and Perform in a Professional Regional Theatre This Summer!
A Bilingual Play in Spanish and English
Written by Ramón Esquivel | Directed by Chris Kuiken
Featuring StudioLuna's Performance Conservatory Teen Ensemble
Soledad sings and dances with the stars and moon every night. Her family is always on the move, so it's easier to talk to Luna, the moon, than to other kids. But Soledad has always wanted to have human friends, so one day she tries something new...
Inspired by stories of migrant kids.

The four-week Teen Performance Conservatory program allows performers between the ages of 11 and 17 to build individual technique and learn about themselves as performers, explore their own abilities, and refine their skills. Admission is by audition only. Those accepted will begin a focused rehearsal process of Ramon Esquivel's bilingual Spanish-English* play Luna, culminating in four public performances on Luna Theatre's MainStage as well as a week-long tour to summer programs and schools in surrounding communities.

We strive to make our auditions welcoming, supportive, and fun! Please prepare a short monologue, joke, or song. Additionally, you will be asked to read a short scene provided at the audition. To sign up for your audition appointment or for any other questions, please email:
